Discrete Math will make you it’s bitch.

Fun, Fun. While I requirement for programming, Discrete Mathematics can certainly be overwhelming at times. Don’t get me wrong, it makes sense, but it isn’t a way we are normally taught to think. I can see it’s application for programming (and honestly, any problem solving), but it certainly does make you think in ways you are not used to.
Well, I’m not used to anyway.

I was having a small arguement with a friend today about how games shouldn’t have storylines anymore. His arguement was that the game should set the setting and the player would craft the story for themselves. While I can agree with this on a fundamental level for many games, I cannot agree on this for every game. Especially an RPG. I speak on the game I wish to create in this situation, of course

Realism vs. Playability.
How realistic should your game be? Should you try to go for as close to realism as you can? How far should your research go? Where is the cut-off point?
Find the time

Finding time to work on projects can sometime be a pain.
Many of us have something we have to do during the day. Many indie workers have day jobs that might not have anything to do with gaming at all. I myself am a stay-at-home dad.
Happy New Year to everyone!

Some shifts in the goals I have set. I ran up an idea with a friend of mine who is a web programmer and we have begun to put some stuff together. We debated on types of languages to use and settled on Javascript using Ajax.
Wow, it’s been a while…

Perhaps I should get on here more!
A lot has been going on, what with adjusting to being a stay-at-home dad again, and trying to get through the holidays. Now that I am finally getting readjusted to regular life, I can resume my work.
